This place was so good that we had dinner here two nights in a row before heading home to Melbourne. Everything was delicious. Especially loved the bread and smoked cultured butter, burrata with rockmelon, mint and tasmania pepper, and the charcuterie. The beef tartare was outstanding and quite unique to others we've had. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The owners and their young daughter even took the time to speak to us whilst they were trying to eat their dinner. This restaurant is the perfect excuse for my partner and I to come to Barwon Heads more often in our campervan (the caravan park is a short stroll away). Definitely our number one restaurant in the area.t Item

We had a the tasting menu at Tommy Gunn’s for a large group of 10. All I can say is WOW!! The food was amazing. Staff incredibly attentive and accommodating. If you have not tried this restaurant then give it a go. We have been to most on the Bellarine and this is the best!! We could not fault it. Sparking mineral water was nice and cold annd refreshing after a hot day. Wine list excellent. Well done and we will be back

Delicious dinner. Started our meal with a gin martini and olives - the martini was perfect. Then we shared the chargrilled beef, roasted potatoes and the beetroot and zucchini salad. Fresh, beautifully presented salad. The meat was medium rare and very tender - melt in your mouth good. We ordered two desserts - chocolate shortbread and the honey mousse - subtle, not too sweet. Wonderful service - attentive but didn’t feel rushed. Beautiful food. Casual chic atmosphere. We will be back. Loved it.

Wow, this place really has its act together. We visited Tommy Gunns several times over the summer break and thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food, friendly and professional service and superb Jalapeño Margaritas. From a casual Bahn bi and beer to a “feed me” experience that makes for a special night out, Tommy Gunns never disappoints. We’ll be back!

Gunn dining experience. Tommy Gunns, what a wonderful dining experience. [...] The food has a French feel. It was very much seasonal, locally sourced, amply proportioned and delightfully tasty. I enjoyed an entrée which was skewered Anchovy, Mt Zero Olives, Jalapeno and what looked suspiciously like dried salt bush leaves - spectacular. That was complimented by some bread from the Ket Bakery in Wallington with smoked butter - yep, it was really good too. My partner is Coeliac, the kitchen makes a Gluten free bread which was again served with smoked butter and tasted wonderful. We shared a plate of steak tartare and charred beef with a spring pea salad, Bruce's (a mate of a mate apparently) herb sauce and beef fat kiffler potatoes. Although the tartare was a share plate ($20.00 I think) it, and the main of charred beef, was a lot of food, great value for money. ✔ We finished off sharing a desert which was honey mousse, fig jam, honeycomb with olive oil. The food was just wonderful, I looked up the kitchen staff this morning on their web page and see the head chef and Sous chef were in the kitchens of two of our best regional restaurants; Igni in Geelong and Brae near Birregurra. ✔ The wine list is really very good too, we had a 2010 Cabernet Shiraz that are host Rozza had sourced from another mate of a mate - bit of a them here. Not often you can buy a thirteen year old wine by the glass - it was spectacular. ✔ The team at Tommy Gunns' deserve a big past on the back. All you Trippers, do yourself a favour and get to Tommy Gunns in the main street of beautiful Barwon Heads, you will not be disappointed.

A MUST-VISIT- we can't wait to be back. We went there two nights in a row and absolutely loved everything about Tommy Gunns- incredible food, wine, ambience but best of all the customer experience from the host and the whole team. Best burgers, including the grilled fish burger, homemade pasta, artichoke, ceviche, buratta...desserts. Can't wait to be back.

Had another fabulous dinner at the best thing to open in Barwon Heads in recent times. The most amazing food, great service and a very cozy atmosphere. Thank you again R and D for bringing this to our town, and making it fabulous every time!To have this quality experience a 5 min walk from home is truly a treat. We could not decide which was our favourite course - the most amazing croquettes, the fish in a delicious sauce, or the home made choc - covered ice creams. Might have to go again soon to see if we can decide!

This restaurant was such a great find. Cosy and a stylish interior. The service was great and everyone very friendly. We started with the special cocktail- a Yuzu Negroni which was divine! Adults loved their steak tartare and the kids demolished their burgers. Then finished up with the parfait with chocolate sauce. It was so good we returned the following evening!!

Let them feed you I’m promise it is a delight. For $65 you get a range of dishes across the menu which are considered, balanced and simply good ! If you don’t think you can fit it all in then the steak tartare or the roasted celeriac are excellent. Wine list caters to all point of view. I’ll be back when next in Barwon Heads.

We had our anniversary dinner here yesterday…Suffice to say it was a lovely way to celebrate the occasion: the venue was just the right size to be cozy and comfortable, fittings were in keeping with a beachside vibe, understated and stylish. The food we ordered we thoroughly enjoyed: halloumi was dense and creamy and not squeaky, steak tartare silky and succulent, charred beef served with the just right amount of fat. The star was the pumpkin pie, which rekindled fond memories of our days living in the US when autumn was upon us as it is now. Not too sweet with just the right amount of spice in a light and flaky pastry. The Service was charming and we could see while the restaurant was busy they managed the volume well. Thanks for a lovely meal and experience. Will definitely come back!

Counting myself so lucky to have something of this calibre so close to home. Plus there’s a kids menu! At a French restaurant! I didn’t bring my kid as I wanted to enjoy myself (ha!) but it’s great that they’re catered to. Everything was incredible from the food, to cocktails, service and ambience. A little smaller venue size than I anticipated but that made me love it even more. Looking forward to my next visit and sampling more of that delectable menu.

Unreal! It’s so great to have such a culinary delight in Barwon Heads. Wife and I opted for the relax menu, where the chef prepared a number of treats for us. Food was plentiful, and most importantly delicious! As BH locals - Tommy Gunns is now our chosen place to go.

We all thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at Tommy Gunns. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed while having top quality local produce. Would love to visit again for a long lunch with a group of friends. Wheelchair accessibility: My daughter is in a wheelchair and was able to get in to the restaurant with no problems. The online booking allowed me to select wheelchair accessible as a requirement which was fantastic.
